Five snowy days around Manali

- Solang Valley for snow play, the ropeway and (in season) skiing/tubing.

Best Time: March–June is pleasant and green; December–February brings snow to Shimla, Manali and Kufri; July–September sees monsoon showers and occasional landslides.
How to Reach: The trip is by road in a private vehicle. Most itineraries start from Chandigarh or Delhi; the nearest airports are Chandigarh, Kullu (Bhuntar) and Gaggal (Dharamshala).
Hill Roads: Himachal''s mountain roads are winding and slower than plains. We plan realistic drive times and use experienced local drivers.
Money & Network: Carry some cash for smaller towns; ATMs are in main towns. Mobile network is good in cities and patchy in remote valleys.

For guaranteed snow, travel December to February, when Solang, Sissu and the Atal Tunnel area are blanketed. Fresh snowfall can extend into March. Rohtang usually reopens around May.
Rohtang is usually closed by heavy snow in deep winter and reopens around May. When it is shut, we use the year-round Atal Tunnel to reach snowy Sissu, so you still get plenty of snow.
Sissu is a picturesque village in the Lahaul valley just beyond the Atal Tunnel, with a frozen waterfall and open snowfields in winter. It has become the go-to snow spot when Rohtang is closed.
Yes - Manali and Solang have plenty of shops renting waterproof jackets, boots and gloves at reasonable rates. We point you to reliable ones so you stay warm and dry.
The Atal Tunnel to Sissu needs no special permit. Rohtang Pass requires a permit with daily quotas and is seasonal - we arrange it when the pass is open.
Yes - we use experienced local hill drivers with the right vehicles, monitor road and weather updates daily, and adjust the plan for safety when there is fresh snowfall.
At Solang you can try snow tubing, skiing (in season), the ropeway and general snow play. Sissu is great for snow walks and photos. Most activities are optional and paid locally.
