A challenging and spiritual trek around the sacred Kinner Kailash range in Kinnaur - one of Lord Shiva's Himalayan abodes. The circuit (parikrama) passes the revered Shivling rock (a 79 ft natural formation) and crosses high passes with dramatic views over the Kinnaur and Baspa valleys.
It is a strenuous, high-altitude trek for fit, experienced trekkers, run with guides, camps and full safety support.

Fitness: A basic level of fitness helps. We share a simple preparation plan; some daily walking or jogging beforehand makes the trek far more enjoyable.
Altitude: Higher treks cross alpine meadows and passes. We pace the ascent for acclimatisation and carry a first-aid kit; a trek leader accompanies the group.
Best Season: Most Himachal treks run roughly May–June and September–October; some (like Kheerganga and Triund) have a longer window. Snow treks have their own season.

It is a difficult, high-altitude parikrama with long days, steep ascents and descents, and thin air. It suits fit trekkers with prior Himalayan trekking experience; it is not recommended for beginners.
Kinner Kailash is considered one of Lord Shiva's Himalayan abodes, and the parikrama (circumambulation) is a sacred pilgrimage. The 79 ft Shivling rock, which is said to change colour through the day, is the spiritual highlight.
Both - it is a demanding high-altitude trek that is also a revered Hindu parikrama. Many trekkers do it for the challenge and scenery, while pilgrims do it for devotion; we run it with full trekking safety support.
The short window is roughly August to September, when the passes are relatively snow-free and the traditional yatra season is on. Weather is a serious factor and can change plans.
Excellent fitness and prior experience of moderate-to-difficult Himalayan treks are strongly recommended. We share a preparation plan and may ask about your trek history before confirming your place.
We ascend gradually with acclimatisation, carry oxygen and a first-aid kit, employ experienced local guides, and the leader monitors everyone. Routes can be modified or the high point skipped if conditions demand.
A trek leader, local guides, cooks and porters/mules, plus tents, sleeping bags, all trek meals and safety gear. You carry a daypack; main loads are portered.
This is the high-altitude Kinner Kailash parikrama trek in the Kalpa/Tangling area, not the separate one-day Shivling darshan trek from the Sangla side. Tell us if you prefer the shorter version and we will advise.
