Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you book
It is a beginner-to-moderate trek of about 12 km round trip, climbing steadily for 4-5 hours to the top. Basic fitness and good shoes are enough; the well-marked trail and hot-spring reward make it very popular with first-timers.
It is a natural hot-water pool in an alpine meadow at the top of the trek, considered sacred. There are separate bathing areas, and a soak there after the climb, surrounded by mountains, is the highlight.
You camp in tents on the Kheerganga meadow, with sleeping bags and hot meals provided. Nights are cold at altitude, so warm layers are a must.
April to June and September to November are best. The trail usually closes in deep winter due to snow, and monsoon (July-August) can make it slippery and prone to landslides.
We start from Barshaini and typically ascend via the Kalga/Nakthan forest route, which is scenic and shaded. Your trek leader chooses the safest, prettiest trail on the day.
A trek leader accompanies the group throughout for navigation and safety. While the trail is popular, having a leader makes it smoother and safer, especially for beginners.
Trek shoes, a daypack, warm layers, a rain jacket, a towel and swimwear for the spring, water, snacks, a headlamp and personal medicines. We provide tents, sleeping bags and meals.
Yes - many travellers pair the trek with a few relaxed days in Kasol and Tosh. We offer combined Parvati valley packages if you want the full experience.
