Important Notes
Please read before booking
Best Time: March–June is pleasant and green; December–February brings snow to Shimla, Manali and Kufri; July–September sees monsoon showers and occasional landslides.
How to Reach: The trip is by road in a private vehicle. Most itineraries start from Chandigarh or Delhi; the nearest airports are Chandigarh, Kullu (Bhuntar) and Gaggal (Dharamshala).
Hill Roads: Himachal''s mountain roads are winding and slower than plains. We plan realistic drive times and use experienced local drivers.
Money & Network: Carry some cash for smaller towns; ATMs are in main towns. Mobile network is good in cities and patchy in remote valleys.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you book
Jibhi is in the offbeat Banjar valley of Kullu district, reached via the Aut tunnel on the Mandi-Kullu highway - about 1.5-2 hours from Kullu-Bhuntar airport, or by road/Volvo from Delhi to Aut then a short drive.
Jibhi is a forested village with waterfalls, cafes and wooden cottages, while Shoja is a tiny ridge-top hamlet higher up, famous for its sweeping Himalayan views. This trip stays in both for variety.
It is an easy-to-moderate 5 km forest trail (about 1.5 hours each way) from Jalori Pass, suitable for most people with basic fitness. The serene, sacred lake and mossy forest make it very rewarding.
Chehni Kothi is a centuries-old, multi-storey wooden-and-stone tower near Jibhi, one of the tallest traditional structures in the region, reached by a short uphill walk through a charming village.
Perfectly - the Banjar valley is peaceful, green and far less touristy than Shimla or Manali, making Jibhi and Shoja ideal for slow travel, nature and a digital detox.
Jibhi and Shoja are beautiful (and often snowy) in winter, but Jalori Pass can close with heavy snow, which may limit the Serolsar walk. We advise on current conditions for your dates.
Yes - the gentle walks, waterfalls and cosy cottages suit families who enjoy nature. The Serolsar walk is manageable for older children; younger ones can enjoy the village and waterfalls.
March to June and September to November for pleasant weather and open trails. Jalori Pass is best avoided just after heavy winter snow; monsoon brings lush greenery but slippery paths.
