Important Notes
Please read before booking
Best Time: March–June is pleasant and green; December–February brings snow to Shimla, Manali and Kufri; July–September sees monsoon showers and occasional landslides.
How to Reach: The trip is by road in a private vehicle. Most itineraries start from Chandigarh or Delhi; the nearest airports are Chandigarh, Kullu (Bhuntar) and Gaggal (Dharamshala).
Hill Roads: Himachal''s mountain roads are winding and slower than plains. We plan realistic drive times and use experienced local drivers.
Money & Network: Carry some cash for smaller towns; ATMs are in main towns. Mobile network is good in cities and patchy in remote valleys.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you book
You can visit the Dalai Lama temple complex (Tsuglagkhang) and monastery, which is deeply atmospheric. His Holiness gives occasional public teachings when in residence, but personal audiences are not part of a tourist visit; we share the teaching schedule if available.
Khajjiar is a saucer-shaped green meadow ringed by dense deodar forest with a small lake at its centre, reminiscent of Alpine scenery - hence the nickname. It is one of northern Himachal's prettiest spots.
A short walk towards Triund or Bhagsu is optional on the McLeodganj day. The full Triund trek is a longer day-hike or overnight; if you want it, we can build in the time - see our dedicated Triund trek package.
It is about a 4-5 hour scenic drive through pine forests and valleys. We do it as a travel day with photo stops, so it is comfortable.
McLeodganj is the home of the Tibetan government-in-exile and a large Tibetan community, giving it monasteries, prayer wheels, Tibetan food and handicrafts, and a uniquely peaceful, spiritual atmosphere.
By air to Gaggal (Kangra) airport near Dharamshala, by train to Pathankot and then road, or by overnight Volvo from Delhi. We arrange the most convenient option.
Yes - the sightseeing is gentle with short walks, and the two hill bases suit a relaxed pace. Optional hikes can be skipped, making it comfortable for all ages.
March to June for pleasant weather and blossoms, and September to November for clear skies. Winter brings cold and occasional snow; monsoon can slow the hill roads.
