Important Notes
Please read before booking
Best Time: March–June is pleasant and green; December–February brings snow to Shimla, Manali and Kufri; July–September sees monsoon showers and occasional landslides.
How to Reach: The trip is by road in a private vehicle. Most itineraries start from Chandigarh or Delhi; the nearest airports are Chandigarh, Kullu (Bhuntar) and Gaggal (Dharamshala).
Hill Roads: Himachal''s mountain roads are winding and slower than plains. We plan realistic drive times and use experienced local drivers.
Money & Network: Carry some cash for smaller towns; ATMs are in main towns. Mobile network is good in cities and patchy in remote valleys.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you book
Yes - Bir Billing is regarded as one of the top paragliding destinations in the world and has hosted the Paragliding World Cup. The launch is at Billing (~2,400m) and you land at Bir, flying over the Kangra valley.
A standard tandem flight is included in the package (weather permitting). Flight duration and video/photo add-ons vary; we confirm the details and any extras before you book.
No - tandem flights are with a certified pilot who handles everything, so no experience is needed. You just enjoy the ride. It suits first-timers and is thrilling but controlled.
Paragliding depends on wind and weather. If flights are grounded on your day, we try to reschedule within your stay; if it is not possible, we advise on refunds/alternatives as per the operator's policy.
The prime flying seasons are roughly March to June and, especially, October to November, when skies are clear and winds are favourable. Monsoon and deep winter see limited or no flying.
Operators typically have weight limits (often around 20-110 kg) and require minors to have guardian consent. We share the exact requirements so you can plan; tell us your group details in advance.
Bir has Tibetan monasteries, a relaxed cafe and meditation scene, a tea factory, and short walks and cycling routes. It is a lovely place to unwind before or after your flight.
Bir is about 2-3 hours from Dharamshala, or reachable from Pathankot (railhead) and Gaggal airport. Many travellers combine it with Dharamshala, as in this package.
