Important Notes

Please read before booking

🌲

Best Time: March–June is pleasant and green; December–February brings snow to Shimla, Manali and Kufri; July–September sees monsoon showers and occasional landslides.

🚌

How to Reach: The trip is by road in a private vehicle. Most itineraries start from Chandigarh or Delhi; the nearest airports are Chandigarh, Kullu (Bhuntar) and Gaggal (Dharamshala).

⚠️

Hill Roads: Himachal''s mountain roads are winding and slower than plains. We plan realistic drive times and use experienced local drivers.

💰

Money & Network: Carry some cash for smaller towns; ATMs are in main towns. Mobile network is good in cities and patchy in remote valleys.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you book

A standard tandem flight from Billing to Bir typically lasts around 15-30 minutes depending on conditions, covering roughly 800m of descent over the valley. Longer cross-country options exist for licensed pilots.

Yes - two nights give a full flight day plus a buffer, which is important because flying depends on weather. If the first day is grounded, we can attempt the flight the next morning.

None - tandem flights are flown by a certified pilot who controls everything. You simply run a few steps at launch and then sit back and enjoy the views. It is beginner-friendly.

Safety comes first, so flights are grounded in poor weather. With two nights we can usually reschedule to a better window; if flying is impossible during your stay, we advise on the operator's refund policy.

March to June and especially October to November offer the clearest skies and best winds. There is little to no flying during the monsoon (July-August) and deep winter.

Yes - operators usually set weight limits (roughly 20-110 kg) and advise against flying with certain heart, back or pregnancy conditions. Share your details and we will confirm eligibility beforehand.

Most pilots offer a GoPro video/photo package for a small extra fee, paid directly. Let us know and we will arrange it with the operator on the day.

Bir has Tibetan monasteries, a tea garden, meditation centres, cycling routes and a famous cafe culture, so there is plenty to enjoy on the ground before or after your flight.
