On this tour you fly - a quick 70-minute domestic flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai on Day 3, which we include and arrange. An overnight train is also possible if you prefer a scenic option.

They are wonderfully different - Bangkok is a fast, modern city of temples and markets, while Chiang Mai is cool, calm and steeped in northern Lanna culture. Together they show two distinct sides of Thailand.

Yes - we use only sanctuaries that forbid riding and let elephants roam. You feed, walk with and bathe rescued elephants while learning about their care.

Three nights in Bangkok and three in Chiang Mai, so you get a proper feel for both without constant hotel changes.

Ideal - it is built around temples, markets, crafts, cuisine and heritage, from the Grand Palace to Doi Suthep and the old walled city of Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai is cooler than Bangkok, especially November to February. The northern burning season (roughly March-April) can affect air quality, so we recommend the cool months.

Yes - many travellers finish with a few island days in Phuket or Krabi. We can add a beach leg and adjust the flights into one smooth itinerary.

On Day 6 you can choose a hands-on Thai cooking class or a Chiang Rai day trip. If you want both, we can extend the trip by a day.
