About this Thailand Tour
Temples, elephants and Lanna culture
Northern Thailand feels like a different country - cooler, calmer and steeped in Lanna culture. Over five days in Chiang Mai you climb to the golden Doi Suthep temple, spend a heartfelt morning at an ethical elephant sanctuary, wander the old city's temples, try a Thai cooking class and browse the famous night bazaars.
We only use sanctuaries that let elephants roam and forbid riding - a genuine, kind wildlife experience.

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is Chiang Mai's most sacred temple, set on a mountain overlooking the city, with a glittering golden pagoda and sweeping views. It is reached by a naga-lined stairway or a funicular.
Very - Chiang Mai is smaller, cooler and more laid-back, rich in Lanna (northern Thai) culture, temples, crafts and nature. Many travellers find it their favourite part of Thailand.
You visit a local market to learn about ingredients, then cook four to five classic dishes (like pad thai and green curry) with a chef, and enjoy eating what you make. Recipes are yours to keep.
November to February is cool and pleasant. Avoid the burning season (roughly March to April) when air quality can dip. The Yi Peng lantern festival usually falls in November.
