The Char Dham — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath — is the most revered pilgrimage circuit in the Garhwal Himalayas. By road it is a demanding ten to twelve day journey over high mountain passes. With Yatraved's helicopter yatra, you complete the entire circuit from Dehradun in just five nights, flying shrine to shrine while we handle the hotels, transfers and darshan on the ground.
Each morning a chopper lifts you over forested valleys and snow-fed rivers to the next Dham, where our on-site coordinator guides you to the temple and assists with priority darshan. You stay in carefully chosen properties at Kharsali, Harsil, Sersi and Badrinath, with meals included throughout — so your energy goes into the experience, not the logistics.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Six unhurried days, devotion-focused and weather-smart
- Arrive at Dehradun (Jolly Grant Airport or railway station); our representative welcomes you and transfers you to your hotel.
- Check in and collect your trip duffle bag — pack light, as a 5 kg baggage limit applies once the flying starts.
- Attend a short briefing covering your darshan schedule and the ground-coordinator contacts for each Dham.
- Evening at leisure; dinner and overnight stay in Dehradun.
- Check out around 7:30 AM and reach the Sahastradhara helipad; your chopper to Kharsali departs about 8:30 AM, landing by 9:00 AM.
- Check in at the Kharsali hotel, have breakfast, then set out for Yamunotri darshan.
- The temple round-trip takes roughly 5–6 hours; choose a palki or pony for the climb if you prefer not to walk.
- Seek darshan at the Yamunotri shrine and take a dip in the warm Surya Kund springs.
- On the way back, visit the Yamuna Mata and Shani temples in Kharsali village.
- Dinner and overnight stay in Kharsali.
- Check out by 8:00 AM, reach the Kharsali heli-base by 9:00 AM and fly to Harsil, landing around 9:30 AM.
- Check in at your Harsil hotel and freshen up over breakfast.
- Drive about 25 km (roughly an hour) to Gangotri Dham for darshan at the source of the Ganga.
- Back in Harsil, explore Bagori and Mukhwa villages, the riverside walk near Jhala, or take a short hike to Chholmi village.
- Dinner and overnight stay in Harsil.
- Check out by 8:30 AM, depart Harsil around 9:30 AM and land at the Sersi base by 10:00 AM.
- Check in, freshen up and have breakfast before your shuttle flight up to Kedarnath.
- Take darshan at the Kedarnath Jyotirlinga, then fly back down to Sersi.
- Time permitting, visit nearby Triyugi Narayan and Kalimath temples, and Kashi Vishwanath at Guptkashi.
- Dinner and overnight stay in Sersi.
- Enjoy an early breakfast around 6 AM, then fly out from Sersi at about 6:30 AM to land in Badrinath by 7:00 AM.
- In the afternoon, proceed for darshan at the Badrinath Temple.
- Explore the hot springs beside the temple, Mana (India's last village) and the local bazaar.
- Optionally take part in the evening Swarna or Chandi Aarti — bookable directly at the temple for an extra charge.
- Dinner and overnight stay in Badrinath.
- For the Maha Abhishek Puja, reach the temple by 3:30 AM (the puja begins around 4:30 AM); check out of the hotel by 6:30 AM.
- Fly from Badrinath and land at the Sahastradhara helipad by about 8:00 AM, then collect your luggage from the cloakroom.
- Transfer to Dehradun airport or railway station for your onward journey.

Weather-Dependent Flying: All flights depend on weather, visibility and air-traffic clearance. Delays or cancellations are possible, so keep one buffer day in hand. Refunds for any Dham that cannot be covered follow the operator's weather policy.
Strict Weight Rules: The helicopter has a 450 kg capacity (max 6 passengers + crew). Declare your accurate body weight at booking — passengers above 75 kg may attract overweight charges, and the pilot's decision on boarding is final.
5 kg Baggage Only: Pack a single soft duffle bag of up to 5 kg — suitcases are not allowed and excess baggage may be offloaded. Carry only essentials like a change of clothes, phone, charger and medicines.
Fixed Timings: This is a daily fixed-departure heli yatra. Please report at the scheduled time each day; late reporting is treated as a no-show with no refund.
ID & Registration: Carry original photo ID (Aadhaar for Indian travellers, passport for foreign nationals). We complete your yatra registration — just share your details and photos in advance.
Hotels & Rooms: Stays are at clean, well-rated non-star properties — the best available at each Dham — on a double/triple sharing basis. A private room is available at a single-occupancy supplement of ₹48,000 per person.
Connectivity: Mobile networks are weak around Harsil and Badrinath (BSNL and Jio work best). Carry enough cash, as ATM and online-banking access is limited in these areas.
Health & Altitude: All four shrines are at high altitude. Travellers with heart or respiratory conditions should consult a doctor before booking, and everyone should carry warm clothing and personal medication.

Everything you need to know about the helicopter yatra
Mostly no. You fly between the Dhams, so the long road journeys and treks of the regular yatra are avoided. There is a short climb to the temple at Yamunotri, where palki and pony are available, and Kedarnath is reached by a quick shuttle flight. Overall it is far easier than the road yatra.
It is a 5-night, 6-day trip that begins and ends at Dehradun. You arrive on Day 1, fly to the four Dhams across Days 2 to 5, and return to Dehradun on Day 6.
Each passenger may carry one soft duffle bag of up to 5 kg. You must declare your accurate body weight when booking, because the helicopter has a strict 450 kg capacity. Overweight charges may apply for heavier passengers, and the pilot's decision on boarding is final.
