Important Notes

Please read before booking

🌿

Best Time: October–May is ideal, with clear skies and pleasant weather. June–September is the monsoon — Cherrapunji and Mawsynram are the wettest places on earth — when waterfalls are at their fullest but rain is heavy.

✈️

How to Reach: Fly into Guwahati (Assam), the gateway to the North East; Shillong is about a 3-hour scenic drive. Shillong also has a small airport at Umroi. We handle all transfers.

🌂

Weather: Carry rain protection year-round — showers can pop up even outside the monsoon. Mornings are best for boating and waterfalls before clouds build.

💰

Money & Network: ATMs are reliable in Shillong and Guwahati; carry cash for villages, boats and entry fees. Mobile network is patchy in remote valleys.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you book

This version leads with wildlife (Kaziranga first) and adds a dedicated living-root-bridge walk in Cherrapunji, giving it a stronger nature-and-forest focus. The other combo starts with Guwahati/Kamakhya and is more culture-plus-wildlife.

Yes - on the root-bridge day you can opt for the short, easy Riwai-style bridge or the strenuous Nongriat double-decker trek (about 3,500 steps each way). Tell us your preference and fitness and we will plan accordingly.

Very high - Kaziranga has the world's largest population of one-horned rhinos, and sightings on the elephant and jeep safaris are common in the open grasslands, along with deer, wild buffalo and abundant birds.

Roughly November to April; it closes in the monsoon (mid-May to October) due to Brahmaputra flooding. We schedule this tour within the open, dry season for the best wildlife viewing.

Moderate - safaris and waterfall viewpoints are easy, and only the optional Nongriat trek is strenuous. If you skip the full trek, the tour is comfortable for most fitness levels.

No travel permit is needed for Assam or Meghalaya, just a photo ID. Kaziranga's safari and park permits are arranged by us as part of the package.

Excellent - Kaziranga's wildlife, Cherrapunji's waterfalls, the root bridges and the glassy Dawki river offer superb, varied photography. We build in golden-hour timing where possible.

Yes - a Tawang/Dirang extension in Arunachal or a Majuli river-island add-on works well. We offer grand North-East combos; just tell us your available days.
